Lots of runner beans

As can be seen…the bean plant (more of a tree!) is being highly productive. We are getting loads of decent sized beans every day…the plant is so bushy, and being in such a small plot, it is becoming difficult to get to the beans. I’m finding the ideal length for picking is about 15cm – any bigger than that any they start getting tough, and not too nice to eat. The old ones are going into the shed for drying – that way we might get some out of them to plant next year.

Either way, they are very handy as we still haven’t bought any veg from the supermarket apart from mushrooms for nearly 2 months!
