chilli from seed

Alas, after sowing quite a lot of chilli seed in a cold frame, undercover, only one that germinated has survived. So i have transplanted it to a larger pot, and put a little slug protection around it in the form of a sharp plastic shield. It’ll stay on til the plant outgrows it.

We did buy a chilli plant from the local small garden centre/veg shop called Robert Youngs, round the corner from where we live, about two months ago, as i thought all the seed had failed, which is just about to flower. It’ll be really interesting to see how the differn plants grow, and if our little one survives.

Then i have to work out how to dry it!

Looks like it is off to a strong start. With the guard to protect it from the slugs and the wind, it is sure to grow strong.
